Screwdrivers appeared on the Russian market relatively recently. They owe their birth to space technologies, since the first screwdrivers were used for repair and installation work in open space. Having "descended" to the ground, they turned into a kind of hand-held electric tool designed for tightening or unscrewing screws. In some cases, a screwdriver works like a drill.

Instructions
Step 1
One of the main elements of a screwdriver is a cam chuck, which is a hollow cylinder with an adjusting ring or sleeve. The base of the cam chuck is attached to the screwdriver shaft, for which a special hole with a thread or a tapered surface is made in its body.
The upper part of the chuck is designed to secure the attachments. Sometimes situations arise in which the cartridge needs to be replaced, which confuses many owners of screwdrivers, since nothing is said about this anywhere. Therefore, ingenuity and calculation come to the rescue. One way to remove the chuck is with a 10mm Allen key.
Step 2
Clamp the short end of the hex key into the chuck and turn on the screwdriver for a short time so that the clamped key hits the table surface with its free end at full speed.
With a working gearbox, this method is very effective. With a faulty gearbox, the spindle is clamped in a vice, the gearbox itself must be disassembled, and the chuck is dismantled with a hex wrench.
Step 3
Alternatively, first remove the screw that secures the chuck to the shaft. The screw has a left-hand thread, so you need to turn it clockwise.
Step 4
Then everything goes according to the already familiar scenario: a hexagon is clamped into the chuck, which must be tried to turn sharply with effort counterclockwise.
Step 5
If the attempt is unsuccessful, you can try to hit the free end of the hex with a hammer. Some models of screwdrivers have a special screw inside the chuck. To see it, you need to dilute the lips of the cartridge as much as possible, look inside and, if it is there, unscrew it.
Step 6
To prevent such situations from arising, manufacturers of screwdrivers strongly recommend not to overload them, since they are not designed for continuous operation. After 15 minutes of operation, take a break and wait until the temperature of the case equals the ambient temperature.
