There are no more high-quality domestic games than high-quality films. Therefore, it is not surprising that even ten years after the release of the first part of "Cossacks", the series is still loved by many players and, despite the fact that they have to face many technical difficulties during the network game, the servers are still constantly being created.
It is necessary
- -Access to internet;
- -Latest Hamachi update.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, download the latest updates. Hamachi is constantly evolving, you can download it on the official website for free. Cossacks, in turn, require patch 1.15. Its size is from 7 to 10 megabytes, you can download it both from the official website and from the fan forum. After installing it, go to the game and in the “network game” menu and check for the “local network game” item (if not, download another version of the patch).
Step 2
Start Hamachi. You will be prompted for a name, after which a unique IP address will be given. There are two possibilities - create your own network or connect to someone else's. The creator must inform the rest of the network ID so that they can join it + their own IP address for later use in the game. If you have problems with the connection, then check the Firewall, Firewall, antivirus and other programs that may interfere with the program's access to the Internet.
Step 3
Go to "Cossacks", select "local network". One of the players must "create a game", and the others must connect to it by pressing the appropriate key and entering the IP address of the creator. You will be taken to the lobby, where each user must choose the color of the units, the nationality of the troops, and then put a "tick" in the confirmation that he is "ready". Please note - the game will not start until all users are ready.
Step 4
Structurally, online play is no different from single matches. However, from a tactical point of view, the "guerrilla war" with an opponent turns out to be much more advantageous, which is practically useless when playing with a computer. The strategy is that you do not attack the enemy "head-on", but instead with a detachment of several units constantly undermine his economy, making raids on fields and mines. The main thing is to constantly attack several points at once so that the enemy does not have time to make the right decisions. For the computer player, this is not a problem, while the live one is noticeably lost.
