Prepare suitable training videos that can be purchased on disc or downloaded from the Internet. There are special video courses in which the hip-hop dance technique is described step by step. Once you master the basics, you can watch how, for example, various hip-hop artists dance in their music videos. Check out the Black Eyed Peas, singer Usher and more. You can also find dance-themed feature films such as Step Up. Observe the dancers' movements carefully and, if necessary, stop the recording at the right moments or slow it down.
Step 2
Create a timetable for teaching dance at home. It is best to exercise for at least 2 hours in the morning, when the brain is good at thinking and the body feels rested. Hone your skills in front of the mirror, trying to correctly reproduce the movements you learned from the videos. Try also recording your workouts on video so that you can immediately correct mistakes and shortcomings.
Step 3
Practice the acquired skills, without this it is impossible to fully learn how to dance well. For example, visit places where hip-hop youth gathers. You can find out where they are going on one of the social networks. Take part in street battles, fight in skills with beginners and more advanced dancers. Also find out as many useful details as possible from the professionals.
Step 4
Visit nightclubs, discos and hip-hop parties. See how people move on the dance floor, take part in the dances with them. Try to find like-minded people who are also self-taught hip-hop dance. It is much more effective to train and hone your skills in the company of friends than alone.
