Sand drawing, or sand animation, is an art that has recently become very popular. Indeed, with the help of sand, you can tell about anything, creating whole stories. How to learn to paint with sand?
It is necessary
- - a table with a glass surface;
- - lamps;
- - sand;
- - video camera;
- - a projector.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all the necessary tools for the job. Choose a table with a glass top. Please note that the glass surface must be matte and the table height must be comfortable to work with.
Step 2
Place lamps under the table to illuminate the picture. Pour volcanic sand on the glass. It has very fine grain, which allows you to draw even small details. If there is no special sand, then sift ordinary river sand well.
Step 3
Place a tripod about 2m high next to the table, on which you fix the video camera and position the projector so that the viewer can see everything that happens on the glass.
Step 4
Create a plot for your story. It must have an opening, a main part with a climax and a denouement or ending. Pictures should be replaced fairly quickly in order to keep the viewer in suspense, and so that the latter does not lose interest in what is happening.
Step 5
Think over each frame separately. There should be no abrupt transitions between them, i.e. do not sweep away all the sand every time and do not start painting over again. Pictures should flow smoothly into each other.
Step 6
Use unusual bright and effective images - the viewer should not easily predict the next frame.
Step 7
Master the technology of drawing individual elements with sand. The background can be either light, i.e. without sand, and dark - when everything is covered with bulk material. To draw on a light background, put some sand in your hand and, releasing it in a thin stream from a clamped fist, draw the boundaries of the images.
Step 8
Draw small details in the same way, for example, parts of the face. The technology for drawing with sand on a dark background is slightly different. Erase the sand in those places where the necessary details of the drawing will be placed. Be very careful as it is necessary to define the borders of the elements on the first try.
Step 9
To draw large round details, clean the surface with a circular motion of your finger, to draw individual lines, drag your little finger across the sand, to draw many points, use the fingertips of both hands at the same time. Be sure to respect the scale.
