In order to make a lawn or flower garden, you must first clear the ground. A good result can be obtained only by removing stones, debris, glass fragments from the site. In addition, you need to get rid of weeds, as they can fill the entire space in a short time and instead of resting you will have to weed the lawn.
It is necessary
- - rake;
- - metal grid;
- - shovel;
- - rye seeds;
- - cardboard;
- - vinegar;
- - grass cutter (lawn mower).
Instructions
Step 1
In order to get rid of stones in the area, dig it up and loosen it. Use a fine-toothed rake to walk around the entire lawn, carefully removing all stones.
Step 2
For a tidier surface, sift the soil through a sieve. Make a sieve like this: put together a wooden rectangular frame, nail a fine mesh inside (the smaller the mesh, the smaller the stones will be sifted out). For ease of use, place two feet on one side so that the sieve is tilted toward the ground, approximately 30-45⁰.
Step 3
Work on a sunny day when the ground is completely dry. Clear an area of land equal to the size of the sieve of stones. Place a tilted sieve over it and from a nearby area transfer some of the earth to the sieve. As a result, the first section will have flat, soft ground, without stones. Move the sieve to the next area and continue working until the entire lawn is covered with sifted soil.
Step 4
To prevent weeds from growing on the lawn, lay a sheet of cardboard on each area, and pour sifted earth on top. Plant lawn grass with a small root system or flowers in this land. At the same time, the roots of the weeds will simply rot in the ground, the cardboard will also rot the next year - as a result, you will have a good, even lawn without weeds.
Step 5
To clear very neglected soil from weeds as follows: first mow all the grass with a lawn mower or grass cutter. You can also use destructive chemicals or acetic acid (it will decompose later into water and carbon dioxide).
Step 6
Dig up the area and sow rye. Rye is different in that it destroys all the weeds in the area. Mow the green rye and again, right with it, dig up the area (rye will be an excellent fertilizer). Sow and dig the area several times over the summer. Next year, there will be no trace of the weeds.
