They say that before taking Moscow, Napoleon climbed the Sparrow Hills to look at the city from above, like a real strategist. Now there is an observation deck, and anyone can feel at least a little Napoleon.

Guide, phone, comfortable shoes, money
Instructions
Step 1
This Napoleonic approach is very good for any tourist who is getting to know a new place or city. The observation decks were created as if specially for this. You will see the city from a bird's eye view, and such an extraordinary view gives the feeling as if wings have grown behind your back!
Step 2
In order to get to the observation deck, especially in an unfamiliar place, you must first prepare. Try to get hold of a good guidebook that will tell you about the different high points in a given area or city. It can be countryside hills with stunning views of the city, or some tall buildings in the city itself, be it towers, bell towers, temples or skyscrapers.
Step 3
Be sure to look for information on how to get there, what the opening hours and admission fees are. You can pre-call there by phone and clarify whether the guide informed you correctly, whether the data in it is out of date. Feel free to inquire about admission fees. You may be eligible for discounts as a student or retiree.
Step 4
Not every observation deck is equipped with an elevator that can easily take you upstairs. Therefore, put on comfortable shoes to easily overcome several tens, even hundreds of steps separating you from the observation deck. Do not be afraid of a tedious climb - after all, it is the ancient steps of spiral staircases and semi-dark walls in the old towers that will set you in the right mood and prepare you to perceive the beauty that will open before you at the very top.
Step 5
Specialized observation decks are equipped with lifts, toilets and cafes with restaurants, so you can stay here for several hours. Do not forget to take money with you, so that you have something to reinforce your appetite, roaming at such an altitude, and in order to pay off if you want to look into the telescope, which is installed on some viewing platforms. And of course, don't forget about the camera!
