Now this type of needlework is gaining momentum, as weaving from newspaper tubes. Often we have a large number of unnecessary old newspapers and magazines, and throwing away the hand does not rise. But you can make vases, baskets and even furniture from them. But before weaving, we need to twist the newspaper tubes, which will replace the vine for us.
It is necessary
- - newspapers
- - PVA glue
- - scissors or clerical knife
- - thin knitting needle or skewer
Instructions
Step 1
Unfold the newspapers and fold them in an even, not very thick pile. Align the edges.
Step 2
Fold the newspapers lengthwise in half, press the folded edge well, and then fold it in half more, press. Thus, you get newspapers folded four times.
Step 3
Now cut the folded newspapers on both sides with a clerical knife. You will end up with newspaper strips 7 to 10 cm wide.
Step 4
Divide newspaper strips into 2 piles, one with white edges and one without edges. Newspaper strips with white edges will produce completely white newspaper tubes.
Step 5
And now more about how to twist newspaper tubes. Lay newspaper sheets on a flat surface, attach a knitting needle to the edge at an acute angle (about 20-25 degrees). Wrap a corner of the newspaper behind the knitting needle with your fingernail and start curling. Use the hand that you twist, try to hold on to the part of the newspaper where the needle is located, so the tube will not expand much.
Step 6
When the newspaper tube is twisted, grease the corner with PVA glue, scroll the tube a few more times, holding on to the gluing place, so that the corner is well fixed and the tube does not unwind.
Step 7
Leave these tubes to dry for 15-20 minutes, after which you can weave the products.
