On the eve of the New Year's holiday, many parents are worried about the question: how to dress up a child for a matinee at school in an original way? It's easier for girls - shops are full of elegant dresses, bows, hairpins, wings for fairies, etc. And what should the boys do, because they have long grown from "bears" and "bunnies"? There is an exit! Sew a suit with your own hands. In terms of time, it will take 2-3 days, and in financial terms it will be much more profitable.

It is necessary

  • - black turtleneck
  • - black skinny pants
  • - foam rubber
  • - marker or felt-tip pen
  • - blue shiny fabric (satin or velvet)
  • - black shiny fabric
  • - gilded braid
  • - thermal stickers for oriental fabrics (Chinese dragon, yin-yang, etc.)
  • - 6 pcs. long black laces
  • - toy ninja swords set
  • - black detachable hood from the old jacket (if not, then you can sew it)

Instructions

Step 1

It is necessary to measure the height of the child and purchase fabrics and foam rubber in accordance with this size (for example, 130 x 130 cm). Draw a rough sketch on paper - what each part will be.

Step 2

Cut the foam into two equal pieces. The first will be used to make a vest, from the second: bracers and greaves. With a marker, divide the first piece of foam in half lengthwise and crosswise. Moving from the middle, start drawing the front and back of the vest, observing symmetry. Determine the width and shape of the neckline. Keep in mind that your shoulders should protrude slightly. Cut out the layout. Attach the foam rubber to the blue fabric and outline the vest pattern, retreating about 2 cm under the seams. Flip the fabric inside out and repeat.

Step 3

Sew the two pieces of the vest, leaving one side unsewn. Turn to the right side, slip in the foam and sew. Trim the edges with gilded tape. On the shoulders and at the bottom of the vest, draw symmetrical stripes with a marker, sew with threads. Attach thin ribbons to the sides of the same fabric as the vest. Think about where you will glue the iron-on stickers. When ironing, use gauze or a cotton swaddle over the fabric, otherwise you may ruin the suit.

Step 4

Cut out the patterns of the bracers and shin pads from the foam. Cover with fabric. Using a marker and a ruler, draw stripes on the fabric so that neat diamonds are formed when the stripes intersect. Sew the diamonds with thread. Decorate the edges with gilded braid. Sew on the sides made of lace. Use 4 whole laces for lacing.

Step 5

Measure from the baby's neck to the top of the knees. Cut two strips of the appropriate length (15 cm wide) from the black fabric. Sew the strips to the base of the hood. If you don't have a ready-made hood at hand, you can sew it: first, cut out three parts of the pattern - a strip in the middle and rounded parts (sides). There should be a drawstring cavity at the base of the hood. Alternatively, you can sew strings to the edges at the sides.

Step 6

The mask in this case is cut from an old mask of a transforming robot. Alternatively, half of the face can be covered with a strip of the same black fabric as the hood.
