Step 1
Playing the guitar begins with a science called "how to hold a pick correctly." But it is impossible to learn this skill in one day. The pick is distinguished by its sharpness and clarity of sound extraction when playing the guitar. But you need to keep it right too. There are two ways to properly hold the pick in your hand:
- you can pinch the pick with the pads of the thumb and forefinger, while the pick is directed downward, that is, parallel to the fingers themselves;
- you can clamp the pick with the pads of the thumb and forefinger, while the pick will be like an extension of the index finger (it should take the shape of the letter "G"), and the thumb must be placed perpendicular to the index finger.
The latter method is the most popular among guitarists, because with it you can move along the strings at high speed and instantly muffle them.
Step 2
Before you start singing a song, you need to learn how to play with a fight, if required by a specific song. There are many types of fights, and each musician chooses one of them to his liking. Often he works out a new fight that he uses in his songs. The simplest one, which can be applied to almost all songs, consists of three strikes on the strings - ↑ ↓ ↑ (first down the strings, then up and down again). A more difficult and beautiful fight looks like this - ↑↑ ↓↓ ↑ ↓. The most important condition when playing in combat is patience. After all, measured play and the correct positioning of hands during the game is the key to good play.
