The film "Orange Love" of Ukrainian production is, of course, about love. About complex love, love on the verge - one that is somewhere between happiness and death.
What do you know about love?
This is exactly what the slogan of the painting "Orange Love" sounds like. This story tells about true love, all-consuming and all-destructive. The film was directed by the famous Ukrainian figure Alan Badoev. The film became for Alan a kind of ticket to serious cinema.
The role of Roman went to Alexei Chadov. His colleague Olga Makeeva, playing Katya, also became a famous and sought-after actress.
During the period when this film was filmed, Alexey Chadov was still at the beginning of his stellar journey.
Now the film can be watched online on many Internet resources.
The plot of the story
A photographer named Roman and musician Katya were real dreamers and clearly extraordinary personalities. Once, hiding from the rain in a tram, they notice each other by their bare feet. Between a guy and a girl, bright feelings instantly appear, and soon they can no longer live without each other.
In search of an inexpensive apartment for living together, the couple finds a strange newspaper ad. Arriving at the indicated address, Katya and Roman meet an elderly man with AIDS. This man will not live long, and he invites the couple to play a game, the reward for which will be his apartment and a large sum of money.
According to the rules of this game, young people must check their feelings for authenticity. To do this, they will be locked in an empty apartment, where all the windows are clogged with boards and there is no electricity. Thus, all that the heroes will have is a loved one, food and water. The game should end on the day of the death of the man who invented it. The heroes will win if they keep their feelings until this time, living in that mysterious apartment.
Roman and Catherine agree to the conditions of the elder, because there is nothing stronger than their love. Time goes by, the Orange Revolution is taking place outside the window, but the heroes can only hear everything that happens on the street. The only connection with the outside world is the letters that often come to the couple. One of these letters changes the situation radically. Katya is sick with AIDS, this is evidenced by the result of the analysis that the couple underwent on the eve of the test. Now the heroes will have a hard time.
The film was filmed in 2007 in Kiev.
Soundtrack
During the filming, the Ukrainian group "Boombox" recorded the song "Kviti in Volossi", which became the soundtrack of the film "Orangelove". However, this song cannot be heard either during the picture or after it with the captions. Nevertheless, this did not prevent the song from becoming known throughout the post-Soviet space.
