The jump rope is an effective lightweight trainer that allows you to keep your muscles in good shape, fight excess weight, and give a sufficient load on the cardiovascular system. In addition, exercises with a rope do not require any material costs, except for a one-time purchase of the sports equipment itself, and do not take too much time. But it is still not worth buying the first rope that comes across, it must be selected wisely.
Instructions
Step 1
The length of the rope depends on your height. If you choose too short, it will not touch the floor during the jump, and you will have to make extra effort to get your legs high. Too long a rope will not give a clear rotation, it will get confused and interfere.
Step 2
Take both ends of the rope in one hand. Pull it straight forward at chest level so that the angle between your arm and your body is 90 degrees. The bottom end of the rope will touch the floor, it should not lie in a fold on the floor or hang over the floor surface a few centimeters from it. This measurement will provide the optimal rope length strictly for your height, and this will be the guarantor of high-quality and effective training.
Step 3
Another way to find the correct length. Take both ends of the rope with both hands and stand in the middle with both feet. Stretch the equipment along your torso. If the top of the handles is at the level of the armpits or at least not lower than the chest, the jump rope will suit you. If the cord of the product is even slightly longer, it will be difficult for you to control movements and it is almost impossible to make a double jump.
Step 4
If there is no opportunity to personally measure the length of the rope for your height, be guided by the generally accepted table of the ratio of height to length:
- for growth up to 150 cm, a 1, 8-meter product is suitable;
- 151-167 cm - 2.5 m;
- 168-175 cm - 2, 8 m;
- 176-183 cm - 3.0 m;
- from 183 cm - 3, 5-3, 8 m.
Step 5
For effective exercise, opt for a rope with a PVC cord or rubberized cord. The handles should be of a comfortable size for your palms, smooth, without burrs or cracks. The cord itself should not be too thin and light, otherwise the rope will get tangled and cling.
