Knitted jackets look original and stylish - in such clothes you will certainly look fashionable and relevant. Choose the model you like, pick up the threads, take measurements and start making an openwork, light and modern element of a woman's wardrobe.
Instructions
Step 1
Study the knitting pattern and determine which element you will start knitting with. The jacket will have two sleeves, two shelves and one back. The easiest way is to start from the back - knit several elements of the pattern, for example 10. You will be able to evaluate how good the pattern is with these threads, whether the combination of pattern and color will be successful, etc.
Step 2
Tie the back and the shelves - start knitting the main pattern up, then down. Strictly follow the scheme - make a hole for the armhole in the required rows, tie the hem according to the idea.
Step 3
Make sleeves - two canvases with basic motifs, repeating the required number of times (along the width of the sleeve). Finish the sleeve by knitting the cuffs - you can make them the same as the main fabric (then follow the pattern) or do it in the usual way, without openwork knitting. Remember to tie the edges of the cuffs in the same way as you finished the edges of the shelves.
Step 4
Assemble the jacket - having finished knitting all the elements, connect the product by sewing together the edges. Start at the shoulder seams - join the back and shelves with a knit seam. Mark the location of the armhole 10-12 centimeters from the shoulder joints. Sew the sleeves into the main fabric of your garment - also with a knitted stitch. Finish the neckline and armhole in the same way that you sewed the edges of the shelves and sleeve cuffs. Join the side seams and sew on the sleeves.
Step 5
Decorate the jacket with decorative elements. As decorations, you can use small flowers, knitted separately, from contrasting threads. You can embroider a jacket by placing an interesting pattern along the edges of the shelves, on the back, on one shoulder, on the edges of the sleeves, etc. If you plan to sew on buttons, knit them in advance or prepare bright shiny beads, preferably round. When knitting, do not forget to mark the places for the loops on the diagram (or use the holes in the pattern as loops). Buttons are usually sewn onto the left front.
Step 6
The finished jacket should be soaked in warm water, laid out on paper, transferred to a clean and flat surface, but not near heat sources. After drying, lightly smooth the jacket with your hands, shake it and evaluate your work.
