Knitted vests were called "soul warmers" for a reason. It is very warm in such hand-made things. Especially if the vest is knitted from natural wool. However, keep in mind that crocheted vests are stiffer than knitted vests. In any case, the knitted vest will be a unique decorative model of your wardrobe.
It is necessary
- Threads of different colors (beige, green brick, brown)
- Hook
- Scissors
- Pencil on paper
Instructions
Step 1
Before crocheting a vest, it is imperative to knit a sample, because the dense knitting of the crochet stitches practically does not stretch in width. In a 10 cm by 10 cm sample, you should get 26 double crochets and 15 rows. If the number of stitches is different, then the total number of loops will need to be adjusted.
Step 2
Then you need to build a drawing of a pattern of the required size, and then use it to calculate the number of loops. In the process of knitting, the patterns of individual parts must be correlated with the details, on which the width of the finishing border is also indicated. The border around the armhole and along the contour of the vest is 1 cm, along the edges of the front parts - 2.5 cm.
Step 3
The vest is knitted at the bottom edges. The finished parts are laid out according to the pattern, and then steamed through a damp cloth. After that, the parts must be sewn and re-steamed.
Step 4
In the next step, the contour of the vest and the armholes are tied with one row of beige threads, only the middle edges of the parts are tied with 1, 5 cm with the border of the single crochet, while on the right side 3 button loops are knitted. Then the armholes and contours of the entire vest are tied from the front side 1 with a row of single crochet columns with colored threads: green, brick and brown. At the corners of the vest in a corner column without a crochet, 2-3 single crochet columns are knitted in one loop so that the border does not gather.
Step 5
Then, to trim the vest, a 9.5 cm long strap is separately knitted with single crochet columns with colored threads. The placket is sewn onto the left side of the vest instead of a patch pocket.
