The ability to "draw with knitting needles", intertwining threads of different colors in one canvas, allows the needlewoman to create unique things. Multicolored stripes, simple color combinations and intricate jacquard patterns add brightness and conviviality to the outfit. However, working with patterned products is extremely painstaking and requires perseverance from you. Errors are unacceptable here, since even one missed loop can completely ruin the element of the pattern. You must be ready to exercise.
It is necessary
- - knitting needles;
- - yarn of two or more colors;
- - two plastic bags (special containers);
- - jacquard thimble.
Instructions
Step 1
Find the perfect combination of different colored threads. Please note that for multi-color knitting, all working yarns must be identical in thickness. This is a prerequisite for creating a smooth, neat canvas.
Step 2
You should not use more than four types of yarn in one working row and immediately start with a complex jacquard pattern. To learn how to correctly change the color of the threads when knitting, it is recommended to practice doing horizontal stripes of 2-3 colors.
Step 3
Place the selected balls on the table and think over the sequence of alternating colored stripes. For example, yellow, red and orange.
Step 4
After that, place the skeins each in a separate plastic bag, or use special plastic containers for knitting. It is important that when working, threads of different colors do not get tangled in one bundle.
Step 5
Knit a multicolor fabric with hosiery. Start with a yellow stripe four rows high. Change the thread from yellow to red at the beginning of the next row (hereinafter, do this only from the front side of the work!).
Step 6
Pull out an edge loop from the red thread and continue to knit red, then orange stripes (further along the pattern). Please note: vertical thread broaches will appear on the left of the canvas. Don't pull them too tight, and don't let them hang loose.
Step 7
Learn to recognize the pattern of a multicolored pattern. In it, one cell is always equal to one loop, and each color has its own designation in the form of different figures. This should be stated in the knitting manual. To make it convenient for you to work, paint the cells in the appropriate colors. You can even draw your drawing on a checkered sheet of paper.
Step 8
Work with a multicolor pattern with a dedicated jacquard thimble. You will have to change yarns of different colors in the same working row, and this device will help you to consistently distribute the yarn. Otherwise, the threads will simply get confused.
Step 9
Knit a colored pattern according to the chosen pattern, carefully replacing the non-working thread with a working one. At the same time, pull the non-working yarn freely along the seamy side of knitting. The thread feeds will now be horizontal.
Step 10
You have to get used to pulling the broaches - they should be placed on the wrong side of the canvas and not tight, and not weak. In order not to tighten the product, it is recommended to fasten long stretched threads. To do this, before tying the next loop, twist the working and non-working threads together.
Step 11
Be very careful not to mix up the colors you want - otherwise the pattern will break and you will have to redo the entire work.
