Biography

Harutyun Pambukchyan was born on October 3, 1950 in the capital of Armenia - the city of Yerevan. After graduating from high school, the young man was educated at the F. Terlemezyan School of Arts and Sculpture, graduating in 1968.

Since childhood, Harutyun was interested in musical instruments and learned to play saz, bouzouki, dhole, guitar, as well as percussion and piano. Later he organized a musical group "Erebuni", which performed music of various directions. The repertoire of the group included musical works by Charles Aznavour, Elvis Presley, even the Deep Purple group. Due to the performance of such works, under pressure from the censorship and the KGB, Harutyun was forced to leave his homeland. In 1975, Lebanon became his place of residence. But his wanderings did not end there, and a year later Harutyun moved to America (California). There he still lives with his family - his wife and son.

Harutyun Pambukchyan is involved in charity and social activities of the Armenian community in the United States, of which he has long become a symbol. Today, his work is popular not only among Armenians, but also among all Americans who are interested in the culture and art of the Armenian people.

Despite the fact that the singer lives in America, he is invited to perform in Armenia and other countries. He often gives charity concerts, the funds raised from which go to the needs of his native Armenia. Harutyun considers himself a patriot of his country, saying that love for the homeland begins with family and childhood.

Creation

Back in the late 1980s, Harutyun Pambukchyan and his Erebuni collective gave several concerts with great success at the central stadium of Yerevan - Hrazdan. In his homeland, the musician is known under the name Dzakh Harut. Some consider him one of the pioneers of the minimalist musical movement Rabis (art workers) that existed in the Soviet Union.

To date, Harutyun's discography includes more than 20 albums. Among the famous songs it is worth noting: "Msho akhchik", "Asmar akhchik", "Ai Kacher", "Zokanch" and others.

Musical fame was brought to Harutyun by the songs of Arthur Meschyan. One unpleasant story is connected with Arthur. Harutyun Pambukchyan released Meschanian's musical album "Requiem" before the author, possibly because Meschyan had problems with the special services. The result is the loudest and most unpleasant story of plagiarism in the history of Armenian music.
