Ko Shibasaki was born in Tokyo on August 5, 1985. In fact, her real name is Yamamura Yukie. She explained that she changed her name for filming in films by the fact that Ko Shibasaki is her favorite character from the manga.

She began to engage in creativity from a young age, when she was only 14, and the actress also worked in many shows and advertisements. Young Yukie woke up famous after filming the movie "Battle Royale".
