The boy was born in the United States, in a small town located in the state of California, in the fall of 1951. Mark's father was a military man, served in the Air Force and received the rank of captain. In the late 70s, a tragic event took place in the life of Mark. He had a terrible accident while driving to the next shoot. Mark's car overturned, he flew to the side of the road. Literally by a miracle, the actor survived. Hamill underwent a large number of surgeries and complex facial plastic surgery, but this did not affect the continuation of his film career. However, Mark preferred not to get behind the wheel anymore.

Personal life
During his student years, Hamill met a girl who worked as a dentist named Marylou York. Soon the couple began an affair, and a year later Mark proposed to the girl. She agreed to become his wife.
It was at this time that Hamill began acting in Star Wars and turned from a little-known actor into a star. Such a change in Mark's life almost separated the young people. They parted for a year, but then the relationship resumed.
