Biography and personal life
Billy Connolly was born on November 24, 1942 in Glasgow. His mother was a worker in a hospital canteen. Billy is of Irish descent. When Connolly was 4 years old, his mother left the family and the children were raised by their aunts. Billy was educated at St. Peter's Primary School. He then transferred to Saint-Gerard High School. In his youth, Connolly decided to become a comedian and dropped out of school. In the 1960s, Billy acted as a folklorist singer.
