Joe King is the leader of the world famous band "The Fray", guitarist and author of most of the compositions performed by musicians. Over a twenty-year career, King was remembered not only as a soloist, but also as a successful producer.

Group creation
Little is known about the childhood and youth of the famous musician. Joe was born in the city of Arvada on May 25, 1980. The family was Catholic. The boy graduated from the Christian Academy of Faith in the same class with Isaac Slade, the future co-founder of "The Fray".

True, the musicians do not position themselves as a religious ensemble. At the same time, everyone is sure that God himself called them to broadcast the truth in a language understandable to every music language. The name for the new group was chosen on a random basis.
Different words were written on the pieces of paper. Friends were involved in the process to expand the list. Then the sheets were dragged and "Fray" (scuffle, fight) fell out.
Success
In an interview, King admitted that the name fully justified the relationship in the team: the musicians often had to quarrel over the lyrics and sound. In 2002, Fray released their debut mini-album, Movement.
Joe sang the lead vocals in the compositions from Where You Want, To and It's for You. There are four songs in total in the mini-collection. A year later, Reason appeared. After the release of this disc, the group gained fame.
Local radio broadcast "Vienna", "Oceans Away", and the publication "Westword" named the creators of such compositions as the best musicians and the state. After listening to "Vienna" the label "Epic Records" became interested in the work of the group. The parties signed a contract in 2004. The debut studio album "How to Save a Life", which appeared in 2005, reached number 15 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The song, consonant with the name, stayed in the top 3 for a year and a half. All compositions were created by Slade and King. Since Joe addressed his creation "Heaven Forbid" to his sister, he performed the main part himself. His voice was featured on backing vocals on "Trust Me", "How to Save" and "Life Look After You".
In 2009, the band's next compilation rocketed to the top spot on the Billboard 200. The most rated song was "Never Say Never" by Joe King. It tells about the love of people who converge again and again after parting. The text is based on a personal moment from the musician's life, his divorce from Julia, his first wife. "Never Say Never" went platinum.
It was included in the list of the 100 best compositions of 2009, was used as a soundtrack for the film "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen". The creation was nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Performance.
In May 2005, a video for this song was released. King wrote the script for him. According to his idea, the lens shows the destroyed city, people fleeing in panic from it. Before recording the third disc, the group decided to take a break from the fame and grandiose concerts that had fallen on them. Taking part of the funds issued for the recording of the disc, the musicians went on a journey. The creation of new compositions "The Fray" was prompted by the seen places. The lyrics for "Heartbeat" were born in Rwanda, the composition "1961" appeared near the Berlin Wall.
All the compositions that came from all over the world were formed in the album "Scars & Stories". It peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 chart. It sold over eighty thousand copies in its first week. In 2013, King announced his decision to record an album. The collection titled "Breaking" includes six compositions.
They were first performed for Joe's colleagues on "The Fray". The musicians noticed that King's new work did not in any way resemble the songs they were used to. A couple of years later, King introduced a new experience, the second album, Union Moon, with five songs. In 2014, in the new studio group collection "Helios", the work of the entire team was presented, in 2016 it was the time for the best hits of the group to appear in one "Through the Years: The Best of the Fray".
Along with nine well-known singles, it includes three new songs. Joe also tried his hand as a producer. In 2008, the musician worked with Chris Allen, who won the eighth season of American Idol. The aspiring artist asked him to write music for Kanye West's "Heartless" cover.
