One of the television sensations of 2010 was the series "School". This project has attracted a lot of attention from viewers and critics, primarily because of its plot - the relationship in the modern school - and the style of presentation.
The director of this project was Valeria Gai Germanika, already known for her work "Everyone will die, but I will stay", which received one of the prizes at the Cannes Film Festival.
The theme of the television series was the life of modern high school students, their relationship with each other, with parents and teachers. The picture contains characters that are quite typical for the modern Russian school. The purpose of the series was precisely to demonstrate the reality as understood by the director. This was facilitated by the manner of shooting - no tripod and decorations were used, as well as additional musical accompaniment behind the scenes. This was supposed to give the series a pseudo-documentary look.
A total of 69 episodes of the film were released. With the first series, the center of the narrative is the 9th "A" class of an ordinary Moscow school. In the narrative, it is quite difficult to single out the main characters, several storylines develop at once. The main theme can be considered the internal conflicts that arise among students among themselves. They can be caused by both simple dislike and unrequited love. The director shows the school as a rather cruel world, where teenagers regularly hurt each other.
Relations between children and parents are no less complicated. In the series, the image of Anna Nosova was created - a girl brought up by her grandparents, but experiencing the burden of their excessive love and overprotection. Interesting is also such a hero as Vadim Isaev, whom his father's alcoholism pushes to get carried away with radical political ideas.
Much attention is paid to teachers in the narrative. Some of them are shown from the positive side, but often their authority is not enough to control the situation at school.
The very plot of the series and the manner of presentation of the material caused a very mixed reaction from the public. But both supporters and opponents of the director's position agree that school life was shown from a rather unsightly side. The question is to what extent this picture corresponds to reality.
