The Taste of Chicago Festival is the largest culinary event held every summer in the United States, with over 70 restaurants presenting their culinary delights. The number of visitors to the food festival annually exceeds 3,500,000.
Traditionally, the festival opens in mid-July and lasts 10 days. The location of the event is Grant Park, opening hours from 11 am to 8.30 pm. The entrance to the festival territory is free, you need to pay only for drinks and food. In order to taste the dishes offered by the restaurants, you need to purchase tickets divided into strips. Depending on the cost of the treat and the size of the portion, a certain number of divisions are separated from it directly at the selected food point.
The territory of the Taste of Chicago festival is divided into several zones: music, culinary (where dishes are prepared in the open air), tasting (where you can taste drinks and food), and entertainment (attractions for children and adults are organized there). More than 300 food outlets are organized in the heart of the festival, and you can taste not only traditional American dishes, but also Moroccan, Turkish, Chinese and even Russian.
Everyone can watch the cooking process in the appropriate area of the festival. The best chefs give free master classes and tips, teach the intricacies of the culinary arts and even allow you to participate in the creation of gastronomic masterpieces.
Within the framework of the festival, concerts and shows are held every day, you can watch the performances of ensembles and music groups, sitting on the lawn on rugs or chairs, the organizers allow you to bring all the necessary things with you. At the same time, it is important to take seats near the stage about half an hour before the start of the performances, they usually start after 16.00. Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the park on these days.
