Biography
Jan was born into a simple family in the south of the town of Nile in Flanders, the former medieval county of the Duchy of Burgundy, on February 14, 1946. As a child, he was attracted by beautiful pictures, the boy looked at them with great interest, he himself drew on sand or paper. At the age of seven, he was sent to school, but the hobby of the parent's son was always approved. He received his secondary education at a local educational institution, after which he entered the Academy of Arts.
After graduating from the academy, he decided to try his hand at theatrical environment and went to study at the studio of Hermann Terlink in Antwerp. There he learned acting, how to behave on stage. Years later, becoming a famous and sought-after artist, he worked as a teacher and at the same time led this theater school (1992-1997).
Career
The first steps to popularity began with the debut in the film of the Dutch director Rademakes "Peace", where Jan played the son of a farmer. Received positive reviews from critics, was noted as a colorful actor with a great future. Simultaneously with filming, he took part in theatrical performances. The most memorable and lasting was the role in the play "Mystery-Buff", which was staged according to Dario Fo's monologues by the "New International Stage" group.
