It is necessary

  • - oven;
  • - stained glass varnish;
  • - hair spray;
  • - nail polish;
  • - acrylic lacquer.

Instructions

Step 1

There are several types of paints used to paint glass. For convenience, they can be divided into the following categories: film, stained glass and firing paints.

Step 2

It is easiest to work with film paints, even a small child can handle it. The printed drawing must be placed in a plastic file and film paint must be applied to it. After the paint has dried, you can remove it and stick it on the glass as an applique. Unfortunately, film paints do not set, so if you decide to wash a vase or candlestick with a similar pattern, the applique should be removed and then pasted back. But such a stained glass window can be used on various objects, choosing a place where it will look best.

Step 3

If you are using water-based or solvent-based stained glass paints, you will need a special stained glass varnish for fixing. If the varnish is carefully applied over the drawing in a thin layer, it will be practically invisible. Stained glass varnish is best purchased from the same manufacturer whose paints you use to paint the glass.

Step 4

A conventional oven is suitable for setting the paints for firing. Put the product on the wire rack, turn on the oven and set the temperature, which should be indicated on the paint itself (usually 130-150 degrees). After the product has been baked for the prescribed time, which is also indicated on the paint (usually 30-40 minutes), turn off the oven and wait for the glass to cool. After that, if desired, the drawing can also be varnished.

Step 5

If you do not have special materials at hand for fixing the pattern on the glass, you can use hairspray, colorless nail varnish, and acrylic varnish used to correct and build up the nail plate.
