If you believe that fountains are designed to decorate only squares and streets of large cities, then you are deeply mistaken. A decorative tabletop fountain made of scrap materials can become an original decoration for any home or summer cottage. The sight and murmur of falling water in itself create a state of relaxation and serenity. And if you supplement this with listening to a suitable musical composition, then there is no better room for psychological relief.

It is necessary

  • - submersible pump;
  • - hacksaw;
  • - pieces of rubber;
  • - rubber tube;
  • - knife;
  • - marker;
  • - bamboo stems of different thickness;
  • - wax;
  • - river pebbles;
  • - plastic or metal container (bowl).

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare bamboo stalks of different diameters. The greater the difference in size, the more spectacular the future fountain will be. Cut the bamboo stems into three pieces (10, 15 and 20 cm long). Be careful as bamboo stalks can have sharp edges. Carefully peel the bamboo with a knife before use.

Step 2

Cut the tops of the bamboo blanks at an oblique angle. For this, a sharp hacksaw with fine teeth is suitable, which will make the cut smooth and beautiful. Varnish or wax the bamboo slices to prevent unwanted white streaks and keep the stems fresh.

Step 3

Use a knife to cut the partitions inside the bamboo stems, making them hollow. The bamboo cavity must be smooth so that water can flow through it completely freely.

Step 4

Place the longest piece of bamboo stem on the water pump. If necessary, seal the connection with silicone sealant or use a piece of rubber tube (hose) for this purpose, placing it on a waterproof adhesive. The connection must be tight and sealed.

Step 5

Place the pump and bamboo structural elements in a container that will serve as the base for the fountain. Use a plastic bowl or basin for this purpose. Pour stones (river pebbles) into the container. Place small pebbles down, and at the top lay larger stones.

Step 6

Place the bamboo pieces vertically, positioning them so that the water flows from the top of the structure to the bottom, like steps. Tie the structural elements together with a rubber band. Now pour water into the fountain. Switch on the pump and check that the system is working properly. Adjust the water supply if necessary. If you did everything correctly, water will come out of the top of the structure and overflow downward, creating a unique effect. Decorate the structure with a live plant by planting it directly in the pebbles.
