Instructions

Step 1

We would like to note right away that you can make handmade wooden balls for yourself and your friends of absolutely any shape and in any quantity, and for this you need to perform just a number of simple actions.

Step 2

Prepare the router, in which you want to attach the router to the rotating base so that when you start the disc, the router rotates in a circle with the required radius.

Step 3

Cut a cylindrical piece of wood to the desired size. In this case, the height of the workpiece and its diameter must be equal. To make a ball out of wood with your own hands, it is best to take a blank from linden, pine, oak or walnut.

Step 4

Cut the workpiece with a knife on wood and give it a roundness (ball). Fix the resulting workpiece in a horizontal position so that the center of the future ball is directly on the axis of rotation of your disk. In this case, the cutter will touch the workpiece, and mill its sides.

Step 5

Start the machine. Remember, the ball will turn out only when the workpiece rotates at minimum speed.

Step 6

Start routing all sides of the wood until you have a ball. Dozens of wood balls can be made using the same principle.

Step 7

Take the finished ball and apply varnish on the wood, thereby protecting the wood from all kinds of diseases and giving the product a decent look. In addition, if you are making wooden decorations for the interior, then you can decorate your balls with ordinary woodcarving, cutting out a special pattern, in this way, or just stripes in different directions, you can also paint the balls in multi-colored shades or leave them uncoated. At the same time, remember that the thread should be carried out immediately after milling, and only then the finished product should be varnished.
