The orchid is a finicky flower, but by adhering to the three basic rules for caring for an orchid, you can enjoy the beauty of this plant for many years.
Instructions
Step 1
Protect your orchid from direct sunlight. In warm seasons, you should not leave the orchid on the windowsill directly in the sun. You should cover the window with a special matte film or blinds so that the orchid gets enough light, but not burns. You can also use simple pieces of paper that are attached to the window opposite the leaves and stalk of the orchid. If this rule is not followed, yellow and brown spots may appear on the leaves of the plant, the flower itself will look lethargic and unhealthy.
Step 2
Regular watering is not suitable for orchids. First, the orchid tolerates drought better than excess moisture. With frequent watering, its roots begin to rot, so there is no need to water it as often as ordinary houseplants. In extreme heat, watering is necessary about 2 times a week, in winter once is enough.
Secondly, the orchid requires special watering: its roots must be completely filled with soft warm water for 25-30 minutes, then the water must be completely drained so that there is no stagnation.
Step 3
Orchid transplant. If the roots of the orchid are already very cramped in the pot, if they already lie in it very tightly and are trying to get out, the orchid must be transplanted, it loves space. But do not transplant it during flowering, wait for the flowers to fall off. After falling off, the peduncle itself is cut off and the plant can be transplanted.
