Wood is a natural material from which not only furniture and doors are made, houses and saunas are built, but also all kinds of interesting and mysterious things are produced to decorate the house, garden, public areas such as parks and squares, etc. Working with wood is one thing pleasure. Carving a variety of wood figurines is a creative process that requires a lot of time and dedication. Only then can a real masterpiece be obtained. You don't have to be a craftsman to carve wood. It is enough just to have perseverance, patience, desire and time, as well as be able to use a few practical tips.
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase a sharp woodcarving tool from a hardware store. It is this tool that will allow you to perform your work with high quality and accuracy. You need to purchase several wood cutters with different blade sizes (thickness and width), from small to large.
Step 2
Prepare sandpaper of various grain sizes before work to sand your work. These actions will give the figure not only a finished look, but also a perfect surface smoothness. Find and prepare for work a piece of wood of the size required to cut your figure. For novice craftsmen, it is best to take a soft wood blank.
Step 3
If possible, when creating the first figure, invite the instructor so that by his example you can perform the same actions and see clearly the whole process of work, while acquiring skills.
Step 4
Prepare your workplace by clearing it of all kinds of debris and preparing the tool so that it is, as they say, at hand.
Step 5
Choose a pattern for the pattern you will be carving out of the wood. Begin cutting by carefully using the correct cutters.
Step 6
Sand your product after cutting out all the decorative elements. Cover the product with varnish so that it stays longer and does not react to external influences.
