Drawing in the animalistic genre always requires a little preparation. Indeed, in order to reliably draw, for example, a cat's face, it is necessary to study the structural features of the head and appearance of the animal.
Instructions
Step 1
Before starting work, print a picture with a close-up of the cat's face and place it in front of you. This will allow you to more accurately convey small details. Using a soft pencil, draw a circle on a piece of paper and divide it with thin perpendicular lines into four sections. The horizontal line will mark the middle of the eyes, and the vertical line will mark the nose.
Step 2
On each of the two parts of the horizontal line, define a midpoint and point around which draw a circle that matches the proportions and position of the cat's eye. Then give it the shape you want. To do this, you need to finish painting the outer and inner corners.
Step 3
The edges of the outer corners should be exactly on the horizontal line, and the inner corners should be slightly lower and closer to the vertical. Erase the borders of the upper eyelids and lower them slightly so that the cat does not look scared.
Step 4
Draw the pupils, taking into account the peculiarities of the structure of the animal's eyes. In the dark, cat's pupils will be rounded, in moderate light they will be narrower, and in bright light they will be a thin stripe. Also, keep in mind that the whites of a cat's eyes are almost never visible.
Step 5
In the middle of the lower part of the vertical line, put an inconspicuous point and draw a slightly flattened triangle around it. This will be the cat's nose. Mark the nostrils on it and paint over.
Step 6
Draw one thin line down the middle of each eye. The distance between them is equal to the width of the upper lip. In order to draw it, step back a little from the edge of the vertical line and draw two wide ovals, suitable for the center of the nose. Round the chin and define the lip line more clearly.
Step 7
Draw two dashed lines rising from the middle of the eyes and from the edges of the circle. They will serve as the width of the base of the ear. Draw the cat's ears so that their height is equal to the width. And then draw in a small visible part of the outer side of the auricles.
Step 8
From the inner corners of the eyes, draw two lines to the upper lip to define the protruding muzzle. Give the cat voluminous cheeks and start working on the pattern. Leave narrow white stripes under the eyes. Draw the fur with short thin strokes. Darken the eyebrows and stripes on the coat. Draw the mustache and hairs sticking out of the ears.
