Instructions
Step 1
Sketch the main outlines. Use the light lines of a wax crayon to outline the basic outlines of the shape. In the course of work, measure with a pencil the angles of inclination of the body, head, legs, as well as parts of the chair. Ask the model to maintain the accepted position if possible. In doing so, you need to make sure that she feels comfortable enough.
Step 2
Refine the drawing. Refine the sketch again and start drawing the main lines. Varying the pressure of the pencil, make them more intense in those places where the shadow lies on the figure. In our case, this is, for example, the back of a model's calf or the area where her back touches the back of a chair.
Step 3
Start drawing with a pencil. Take an EB pencil and apply a few quick strokes to the model's facial features. Don't overload the drawing. Remember that black pencil lines are already applied over the drawing with a wax pencil and therefore stand out very clearly against the sanguine background.
Step 4
Draw the arms. Look closely at the model's folded hands, and then draw them with a light, energetic line. Draw the outlines of the clothes. Add folds to the fabric near the elbow and under the bust. Draw a dark shadow between the model's skirt and the back of the chair.
Step 5
Add tone and detail to the skirt. Continue working on the entire drawing. Refine the outline of the model's legs, add a dark tone to her hair and skirt. Note that the direction of the hatching is parallel to the crease lines of the pleats on the skirt. It is very important to draw the chair correctly, since it is he who determines the pose of the model. Carefully draw the legs of the chair and the shadows lying on them.
Step 6
Deepen your hair tone. Deepen the hair tone of the model using diagonal pencil lines. Pass the strands of hair falling on the shoulders in long, smooth lines.
Step 7
Add a warm tone to the model's legs and arms. Take a sanguine and add warm shadows to the model's calves and the underside of her folded arms.
