Every year more and more indoor plant lovers grow roses in their apartments. Such a plant belongs to the Rosaceae family. There are many varieties of this flower. But for home, Bengali, polyanthus or remontant roses are more suitable.
Roses have always been exquisite and unique flowers. Therefore, in order for it to please with its fragrant flowering, you need to properly care for it. Indoor rose is not a tropical flower, therefore, the climate should be temperate. You need to place such a plant on the southeast or west side of the room.
Lighting and temperature
Like all other plants, the rose needs sunlight, but at the same time it should not be placed in direct sunlight. Therefore, the pot must be placed in the appropriate place. In the summer, you can take the flower out into the fresh air, but be sure to shade it. The optimum temperature in summer should be between 20 and 25 degrees. Overheating and drying out of the soil should not be allowed. And in winter, it is better to give the flower rest and provide a temperature of 10 to 15 degrees. In no case do not put the rose near heating equipment for the winter, and do not allow drafts.
Air humidity and watering
The flower prefers moist air. In dry and poorly ventilated rooms, pests can start on the rose, the spider mite is especially dangerous. The plant should be sprayed 3-4 times a week, and washed several times a month under the shower. In the sundial, while spraying, try not to wet the flowering buds. The soil should not be allowed to dry out, this can be fatal to the rose. Regular watering is especially important during the period of growth and bud formation. But also do not fill the soil to a state of mold. Water for irrigation must be used at a standing and room temperature.
Transplant and correct pruning of a rose
After buying a flower in a store, it must be transplanted. The soil in which flowers are sold is usually not suitable for full development and growth. The pot needs to be taken 3-4 centimeters larger than the previous one. To do this, you need turf soil with humus and coarse sand. You can purchase ready-made soil especially for roses. And be sure to lay drainage on the bottom of the container.
The rose constantly needs pruning of old and yellow leaves, as well as cutting off faded buds. Correct pruning will be the key to successful flowering. Remove dry buds to the first leaf. Pruning before wintering is no less important, the shoots should be shortened by 10 cm, but at the same time leave 4-5 buds on the branch.
