As mentioned above, midges appear in damp ground. Therefore, stop watering at least while the plants are being treated. And in the future, rarely water the flowers. The midges will not be able to lay new eggs, they will just wallow in this ash. And their larvae will also die. In addition, ash is an excellent potash fertilizer.

Stick several matches with their heads down into the ground near the flower. Sulfur has a detrimental effect on midge larvae and they will disappear. And destroy flying insects with dichlorvos or a similar preparation. Just be sure to ventilate the room. You can also water the ground with a pink solution of potassium permanganate.

If the gnats do start up again, try replanting the flower in a new land. At the same time, be sure to wash the pot so that the eggs and larvae of these pests do not remain. Immediately sprinkle the new soil with a layer of ash, this will prevent flying midges, which survived after all the previous measures, from laying eggs.
