The ability to knot is required not only for sailors and climbers, but also for ordinary people, if they like tourist trips, hiking and travel, where knotting skills will be useful to you more than ever. Having learned to knit basic simple knots, you will protect yourself and your companions on an extreme trip, and you will also be protected in case of an unforeseen situation in the city. In this article, we will look at the main types of nodes that are most common.
Instructions
Step 1
Each node consists of three required elements - a bend loop, a running end and a root end. At the same time, the nodes are both safety and auxiliary.
Step 2
One of the most versatile safety knots that allows you to tightly tie any load to a support, up to a person, is a bowline. Tie one end of the string around the support and loop at the other end. Pass the working end through the loop, loop around the opposite rope, and thread it back through the loop. After that, tie one or two control knots over the loop so that the bowline does not bloom.
Step 3
There is also a double bowline, with which you can make loops of different lengths. It is made of rope folded in half, and the double bowline is often used as a belay when a person is working at height.
Step 4
Another knot that allows you to tie any two ropes or rope with any section and diameter is the opposite one. Tie a knot from one rope, drawing the ends in different directions, and then along the ropes of the knot, insert the second rope and tighten the knot.
Step 5
A figure-eight knot is often found in mountaineering, in which the load end should be at the top of the knot, and the turns should be strictly parallel to each other.
Step 6
Fold the rope in half and shape the folded end into a figure eight by looping it around the main rope, then pulling it into the end loop and tightening it.
Step 7
To make a strong loop in any section of the rope, tie an Austrian guide. To do this, grab the middle of the rope and rotate it 360 degrees to make a figure-eight loop. Expand the upper part of the resulting double loop and lower it down, and then throw it over the lower part into the small lower loop and tighten by pulling the ends of the rope to the sides.
