Since ancient times, an envelope has been a packaging for postal correspondence. Standard envelopes had a triangular flap with a glue-coated strip along the edges. The envelope was sealed when the strip was wetted with liquid. Envelopes have always been different in design - square, rectangular, colored and solid, with plastic windows and printed stamps. However, you can design, cut and glue your own version of the envelope. Children will especially like this activity.

It is necessary

  • - a sheet of A4 colored paper;
  • - scissors;
  • - stationery glue.

Instructions

Step 1

Take a postcard to fit the envelope and a sheet of A4 colored paper. Turn the colored paper over with the colored side down and place the selected card in the center on one end of the narrow section of the paper.

Step 2

Fold the top of the paper over the card and secure the fold securely. Fold the sides of the paper over the card.

Step 3

Flip the blank envelope over and fold the rest of the paper over the colored side. This part will serve as the flap of your envelope.

Step 4

Lay the paper back on the table, color side down. Remove the postcard. You have got an envelope pattern. Now you need to cut off all unnecessary from it.

Step 5

Cut off the side folds of the sheet from the half where there is no flap, along the fold lines. Now this half has become different. Cut the flap side corners obliquely from the corner outward.

Step 6

Lubricate the folded side of the envelope with glue on the outside (along the colored side) and glue the narrow part of the envelope to it. Do the same with the second sidewall. The envelope is ready. You can decorate it with an applique and write a congratulation. Insert the postcard into the finished envelope and seal it with the same glue. The glue should be spread on the very border of the closing valve.
