short biography
Valentine was born in a small village near the capital in the fall of 1963. Already in his early years, the boy became interested in drawing and soon began to create sketches of future clothes. He liked to come up with absolutely incredible costumes, but before becoming a famous fashion designer, Valentin had to go a long way.
The parents did not really welcome the boy's hobby, although they did not interfere with the development of his creative potential. They hoped that he would give up this occupation and choose a real male profession. But over time, the desire to become a fashion designer not only did not disappear, but finally got stronger in high school.
Having received his secondary education, Valentin continued his studies at the technical school in the specialty of modeling. Interestingly, there were no more men on the course. He became the only representative of the stronger sex who chose an exclusively female, as was commonly believed in those years, specialty.
Soon the young man was drafted into the army. Even during the service, he sketched clothes and made plans for the future. Returning from the army, Yudashkin continued his studies and as a result defended his first diploma on the topic "The history of the costume" and the second - "Make-up and decorative cosmetics."
Creative career
After receiving his diploma, Yudashkin began his career. At first he worked in the Ministry of Household of the RSFSR as a senior artist. At that time, there was no separate post of a makeup artist or stylist. In fact, such professions did not yet exist in the Soviet Union.
The work was quite difficult. Valentine had to carry out a bunch of duties, and sometimes stay late into the night. Having started his career in the fashion industry, Yudashkin, after a while, created the first samples of a special uniform for a team of hairdressers who were to take part in competitions in Poland. So the clothes, made according to Yudashkin's sketches, got abroad.
The first complete Valentine's collection was created in 1987. It was shown in a hotel called Eaglet. The fashion designer was not only able to attract attention to himself, but also gained real fame. The entire collection was awarded the highest praise, and the central dress caused real admiration among the representatives of the fashion world.
A year later, Yudashkin had already opened his own company, which settled not far from the building where the Soyuzteater was located and where representatives of not only the Russian elite, but also foreign guests constantly visited. Thanks to this, Yudashkin's collection was soon noticed by the French and invited the young fashion designer to Paris.
Having visited the capital of France, Valentin returned from there inspired by ideas and confidence that he will be able to create a new collection that will be competitive in the world fashion market.
Yudashkin immersed himself in the creation of new models and soon demonstrated a collection called "Faberge", and then went to represent it at the Fashion Week in France. All models have been created in a style reminiscent of the famous Carl Faberge products. One of the dresses is still in the Louvre today.
Yudashkin became the only representative of our country who was admitted to the French Haute Couture Federation. Gradually, he began to create not only clothes, but also various accessories, dishes and items for interior decoration, as well as jewelry.
Yudashkin's works attracted the attention of not only dress lovers from famous designers. So the wife of Mikhail Gorbachev, Raisa Maksimovna, began ordering outfits from Valentin Yudashkin. She had great taste and her outfits have always attracted attention.
In the early 2000s, the fashion designer received the title of People's Artist. Soon he was awarded the Order of Merit in the field of literature and art of France, and then the Order of Honor for his contribution to the development of domestic fashion and culture.
Today the Valentin Yudashkin brand is known far beyond the borders of Russia. Yudashkin collaborated with many well-known companies.
In 2007, a collection of watches appeared, developed in collaboration with the famous American company Jacob & Co. Then Yudashkin created a collection of clothes together with the Disney company. For two years, he worked with the Faberlic brand, creating outfits, accessories and the Faberlic by Valentin Yudashkin Gold perfume line.
In recent years, the fashion designer's daughter Galina has been actively involved in the work of the fashion house. Many representatives of the modeling business believe that with her appearance the collections have become more modern.
Income
How much Valentin Yudashkin earns today is difficult to say. There is information that for many years the income of the famous couturier has been brought not only by the modeling business.
According to some information from open sources, it is known that in the 1990s, “new Russians” began to invest in Yudashkin's fashion business. Perhaps this was one of the reasons for such a rapid growth in the designer's financial condition. This information is so true - it's hard to say.
Also in the early 2000s, Yudashkin and his partners registered the Oxygon company, which produces medicines for the treatment of skin under the name Madril. The company also owns a building in the capital, where a business center and hotel are to be opened.
Another source of income was the Kremlevskaya vodka. The brand was promoted by the son-in-law of Valentin Yudashkin, and he himself had interest from the sale of an alcoholic drink. To date, production has been suspended.
In the spring of 2019, Yudashkin presented his new project together with the interior design company Savoir.
