Early years of life

Alexander Ivanovich Podbolotov was born on July 19, 1945 in the capital of Russia. His family belongs to the family of Yelets merchants and manufacturers Krivorotovs. Alexander has repeatedly said in an interview that he is very proud of his origin. His childhood fell on the post-war years. Parents lived in poverty and doubted that they would be able to provide their son with everything he needed. They decided to give Alexander to be raised by his uncle Stepan, who lived in the Yeletsky district of the Lipetsk region. The future singer began to study vocals already in early childhood. He was a regular member of the children's choir at the House of Pioneers. After receiving his school certificate, Alexander immediately went to work as a turner at the Moscow Watch Factory. Alexander did not abandon his hobby for singing in his youth. In his spare time, he performed at the local House of Culture until he was drafted into the army, where he served in the missile forces and rose to the rank of corporal.

Musical career

When Alexander served in a military unit located near Smolensk, he spent his weekends on trips to the local music school, where he took vocal lessons from teachers. After returning from the army, Alexander entered the Gnessin School and successfully graduated in 1970. With a higher musical education, Alexander soon got a job as a singer in the ensemble "Gosteleradio". In 1972, the vocalist became an artist of the Chamber Musical Theater, which at that time was headed by Boris Pokrovsky. Seven years later, Alexander changed his place of work at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater.

In 1983, Alexander began giving concerts not only as a theater troupe artist, but also as a solo performer. He also participated in the orchestra of Russian folk instruments, in the ensemble "Guslyars of Russia", played in the theaters "Luna" and "Helikon-Opera".

Alexander began to discover in himself the talent of a performer of Russian romances and folk songs. His soulful lyric tenor timbre was perfect for chamber concerts. He toured across Russia and abroad and gained many admirers of his talent. During his creative career, Alexander Podbolotov has released eight full-length music albums.

Awards

Alexander Podbolotov in 2006 was awarded the International Literary Prize named after Sergei Yesenin for the performance of romances on the verses of the famous poet. In 2008, the singer received the Order of Honor. Alexander Ivanovich was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia for his contribution to the country's culture.
