Pavel Bazhov is a Russian and Soviet writer, journalist and publicist. He is best known as the author of the Ural legends. His personal life is connected with his only wife Valentina Ivanitskaya and four children brought up in a friendly and happy family.

Brief biography of Pavel Bazhov
On January 27, 1879 (in a new style) in the small town of Sysert, Yekaterinburg district of the Perm province, in a simple family far from the world of culture and art, the future famous writer was born. Soon after the birth of Pavel, the family moved to the village of Polevskoy.
The boy's father, Peter Bazhov, despite his high qualifications in his field of activity (agriculture), was an amateur, as they say, "to drink too much", and therefore the family was interrupted by odd jobs and mainly subsisted on the proceeds from the handicrafts of his mother Augusta Osintsova. She came from the ranks of Polish farmers and was distinguished by high diligence. It was on her shoulders that it fell to run the household, raise her son and still have time to do needlework in the evenings.
Pavel was brought up in a family where his parents loved him very much. They literally indulged his every desire. However, he did not abuse it and grew up a diligent and inquisitive boy. Bazhov was distinguished by excellent academic performance, and his knowledge of A. S. Pushkin, he does, in his own words, owe the fact that he received an excellent education in the future.
This story is connected with a volume of the great poet, which a local librarian jokingly gave to a boy from a working-class family to read on the condition that he would learn all the verses contained in it by heart. Pavel straightforwardly perceived the words of the "learned man", which became the reason for his high awareness of the issues of the work of the Russian classic. And later this became the reason for the financing of his training from one veterinarian amazed by this fact, who literally "gave a start in life" to a talented student.
The young man graduated from the theological seminary in Perm, but refused to serve in the church, and entered the university, considering himself not so much a religious person, but tuned in to the new revolutionary trends that were taking place in the camp. And then there was Red October, membership in the Social Democratic Party, the Civil War on the side of the Red Army fighters, a serious post in the field of public education and editorial activity. In addition, Bazhov was actively involved in educational and educational activities, eradicating illiteracy at the root. Since 1918 he became a member of the CPSU.
Personal life of the writer
For a long time, Pavel Bazhov avoided women and was not noticed in the romantic field as a serious participant in thematic events. However, the gender antipodes themselves regularly showed him signs of attention, neglecting his ascetic way of life. Today it is already difficult to understand why a young man with an excellent education and attractive appearance led such a lifestyle until the age of 30. Apparently, he was brought up on books, where the heroes of the works believed in the only love in life. In addition, he was completely carried away by his professional activities, considering fleeting romantic interests to be the height of frivolity.
And then it happened. At the age of 32, Pavel nevertheless made a marriage proposal to Valentina Ivanitskaya, who at that time was only 19 years old. A serious and educated girl, who, by the way, was also his student, reciprocated, which was the reason for the formation of a new family unit.
Children
This marriage union became the only spouse for both. Seven children were born in a strong and happy family. However, due to illness, three babies died shortly after birth, and only four were able to go out and raise their parents.
Olga, Elena, Alexey and Ariadna grew up in an atmosphere of friendship, love and mutual respect. According to eyewitnesses, Pavel called his wife exclusively affectionate analogues of the name. She was certainly "Valyanushka" or "Valestenochka", and before leaving the house, he always kissed her. And if in a hurry he forgot to do it, then he always returned, despite the possibility of disrupting the upcoming important meeting.
But no matter how hard the spouses tried to preserve happiness and love in their world, they also learned the horror of losing a loved one in their family. Young son Alexei died at the plant in an accident. The family took the loss hard, but had to come to terms with a cruel fate.
It is noteworthy that the father always communicated with his children as with adults and never left the conversation, even when there was very little free time. Subsequently, his youngest daughter Ariadne in her book of memoirs "Through the eyes of a daughter" will note the following: “The ability to know everything about your loved ones was an amazing feature of the father. He was always the most busy, but he had enough mental sensitivity to keep abreast of the worries, joys and sorrows of everyone."
Death
In the last years of his life, Pavel Bazhov took up teaching, stopping writing literary works and fully concentrating on lecturing. Thus, he saw his duty to the country, which needed strengthening of the spirit in difficult times of war.
The great Russian writer died in 1950. His grave is located at the Ivanovskoye cemetery in Yekaterinburg.
