The future spouses met on the set, on the set of a commercial for one of the furniture salons in Moscow.
Mikhail is 15 years older than Catherine. Ekaterina, being a professional volleyball player, is very tall - 202 cm. Her husband is 10 cm lower than her; his height is 196 cm.
Mikhail's parents really liked the chosen one of their son, because in their youth they were also fond of volleyball. Mikhail's father was the captain of the youth volleyball team, and Mikhail's mother was the captain of the girls' team. So they met.
In 2012, Mikhail and Ekaterina registered an official marriage union. The wedding was quite modest, especially by the standards of Russian stars. But this did not affect happiness and harmony in relationships.
Only the closest people of the bride and groom were invited to the wedding. Gamow's white dress was sewn to order, as the models on sale were not suitable for her tall stature. Of the jewelry, Catherine put on only earrings. The banquet was attended only by selected journalists who enjoyed the confidence of the young.
Also at the wedding was the son from the first marriage of Mikhail Maxim. At the time, he was a teenager and in school. They found a common language with their father's new wife and quickly became friends. Subsequently, good relations developed with Lisa, Mikhail's daughter from his first marriages.
In 2013, Ekaterina changed her last name and now acts as Gamow-Mukasey. Until 2013, a volleyball player could not do anything with her surname, since this directly contradicted the contractual relationship with the Dynamo club
In 2016, shortly after the wedding, Catherine decided to end her sports career, go to coaching, devote more time to her housework and her husband. Her decision was also influenced by the fact that shortly before that Katya received an unsuccessful injury and suffered a number of sports failures.
Currently, the couple live in a large business-class apartment on Shabolovka. Ekaterina ordered interior design to professional designers. This apartment is the personal property of Ekaterina, bought by her in 2008-2009 before playing in the Turkish women's volleyball club "Fenerbahce" in the 2009/2010 season.
After 2016, Mikhail and Ekaterina built their own country house on a site located in the village of filmmakers Snegiry and owned by Mikhail's parents. The one-storey project of a Swiss chalet with a basement, a balcony and a glass partition around the perimeter was purchased ready-made, and the construction process was supervised by a professional architect. Construction went on for about 2 years.
