In the old days, decoupage was called the art of the poor. Why poor? Because beauty was created literally out of nothing. Having mastered the simple decoupage technique, you can decorate almost everything in your home - dishes, furniture, mirrors, flower pots. Using decoupage, you can make an original gift wrapping from a regular shoe box, an elegant box from a tin can, and a vase from an empty bottle.
It is necessary
Empty bottle, napkin, scissors, decoupage or PVA glue, sponge, roller, varnish, acrylic paints on glass, brush
Instructions
Step 1
First, select the bottle that you would like to see as a vase. Do not chase graceful curves, remember: the simpler the shape of the bottle, the easier it will be for you to decouple it.
Step 2
Take a napkin with a pattern you like and carefully cut it out with scissors. Now take a close look at the napkin. As you can see, it consists of several layers of paper. Separate the topmost patterned layer. Don't worry, it's pretty durable. You will continue to work with him.
Step 3
If you couldn't buy a special decoupage glue, that's okay. Take PVA glue, add a little water to it, lubricate your drawing and glue it gently to the bottle. Smooth the applique from the center to the edges, but be careful here - it is easy to tear. Smooth the glued pattern with a roller, and remove excess glue with a sponge.
Step 4
At this point, you can stop. And if you wish, take acrylic paints on glass and tint the bottle. You can glue shells, beads, draw patterns with an outline - do whatever your imagination tells you.
Step 5
After the bottle has dried, it needs to be varnished. There are special decoupage varnishes, however, some craftsmen even covered their products with transparent nail varnish. What you use - decide for yourself. Take the finished product to the balcony, where it dries and ventilates from the smell of varnish. That's it, your original decoupage style vase is ready!
