The butterfly knife, or balisong, got its name from the fact that the trail from the rotation of the handles is similar to the wings of a butterfly. This knife is used in the Philippines. In our country, balisong is used more often to perform various tricks, for example, flipping (from the English flipping - overturning).

Instructions

Step 1

The highlights of the twist are knife opening and closing. Simple open-close technologies are called, respectively, Vertical Open and Vertical Close. To open the knife, take it with the safe handle towards you. Four fingers (all but the thumb) should be on the dangerous handle. Rotate the balisong so that your thumb is on the safety grip on the left, your index finger on the right, and three fingers remain on the hazard grip.

Step 2

Hold the safe handle from the sides, and lower the lower one so that it and the blade dangle freely. With an upward and forward motion of the wrist, throw the lower handle over it. Then throw the dangerous handle together with the blade down. At the same time, grab the safety handle from below. The thumb should remain slightly on top.

Step 3

Make a sharp upward motion with your brush, while releasing your thumb. The sticks will connect.

Step 4

Turn the blade away from you to close the knife. Lower the dangerous handle and throw it over your index finger along with the blade. Then lower the blade and dangerous handle down while holding the second handle at the sides. Bring the top handle and blade back in a sharp motion.

Step 5

The simplest way to rotate a butterfly knife is fanning. In order to perform the trick, take the balisong towards you with a safe handle. Lower the dangerous handle and fold your fingers so that you get something like a tube. The handle should rotate freely between the little finger, middle, ring fingers and the hand. Use your index and thumb to lightly squeeze the handle, otherwise the knife will fall out when twisted. Rotate the brush as much as you like.

Step 6

In order to close the knife, catch the moment when the "flying" handle is on top and slow down. The handle will fall into the hand by itself. To open the knife, do the opposite - catch the handle when it is at the bottom.

Step 7

Another simple trick is latch drop. In order to do it, take the knife so that the dangerous handle is directed away from you. Hold the latch with your thumb, pressing it against your index finger.

Step 8

Bring your hand down sharply. Release the safety handle and blade. Continue to hold the latch on the knife. All fingers, except the thumb, should be out to the side. When both handles are connected, make a fist and grab the knife with the blade towards you.

Step 9

For the simple Basic Twirl trick (simple rotation), hold the knife with the safe handle towards you. Holding it with your index, middle, ring and pinky fingers (thumb in a free position), change the direction of the balisong by rotating the hand.

Step 10

Throw the knife over your middle finger, put your index finger on the side of the safe handle. You need to remove it at the moment the butterfly opens. Then, throw the blade over your index finger with the butt.

Step 11

Rotate the knife 360 degrees by rotating the brush. First, hold the safe grip with your middle and forefinger. Next, go to your thumb and forefinger.

Step 12

At the moment of connecting both handles, remove your thumb from the blow. You will receive a reverse grip knife.
