Step 1
Learn to draw by depicting simple objects. For example, an apple. Start by sketching out the shape, size and proportions. Apply light and dark areas of the background (large areas are covered with the side surface of pastel crayons) depending on the lighting you choose.

Blend the image with paper napkins, without going over the edges of the color spots - each color with a new piece of napkin. Use cotton swabs where necessary.

Then continue to apply additional layers, building up and enhancing the color range. Use a dark green pastel pencil to outline future drops of water. When drawing with pastels, colored particles of pigment are often crumbled onto the paper, which should be blown off, and not erased with anything, so as not to dilute the dirt in the drawing.
Step 4
Work on the texture of the apple peel. This is achieved with small strokes of a light gray and dark green pastel pencil. Paint in droplets of moisture, intensifying the highlights and shadows on the apple, bringing the dewdrops to life.
Step 5
Lastly, with a sharpened pencil, go over the edge of the apple, along its handle. Where necessary, select drops, add pigment and blend the places where fingerprints are visible, retouch unnecessary strokes. To keep the work as long as possible, cover it with a thin layer of hairspray, or place it in a mattress frame prepared in advance so that the glass does not touch the image. Your apple is ready.
